My Career

As an alumni in the Associate of Applied Science in Media Arts and Digital Technology program at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, I was able to hone my craft under Professors Joeseph Marcuccio and Joel Chapin. Building upon what I had learned in high school I also was able to study InDesign, Dreamweaver, Maya, Microsoft Office, and Corel Painter. Most of my classes worked with photography and art, both digital and on paper. After the spring 2022 semester, I graduated with a 3.37 GPA as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.

While in college, I was able to have an internship for five months at the New York State Senate for Senate Media Services under Mr. Eric Hoppel. Working with the team I was able to learn Avid Media Composer and XPression. Participating in broadcasting and live streaming Legislative Senate Session and Joint Public Hearings relating to the 2022 Executive Budget taught me how to work as a team in a newsroom setting. I was able to record Senator James Sanders Jr.’s Caucus presentation and edit the 2022 Greek Independence Day video hosted by Senator Andrew Gounardes with oversight of the finished products.

Upon graduating from FMCC, I was fortunate to be hired at NEWS10 ABC as a News Photographer. My first position at the station was News Photographer, where I worked alone or with a reporter to assemble a story for broadcast for eleven months. Driving company vehicles, I arrived at active scenes to cover police and criminal activity, fires, storm damage, and political campaigns to name a few. In addition to filming content, I conducted interviews to report back to the station with. During this time, I made my own stories with the goal of becoming a reporter.

Shortly after being hired, I joined RPGFan, a video game news website that hosts reviews, interviews, articles, and podcasts. Volunteering under the Multimedia category, I specialized as an Audio Editor and panelist for their podcast "Retro Encounter". During this time, I have been able to branch out into writing, posting my first review in October. After eight months, I left the group to focus on writing more consistently and prepare to sign my first contract.

Currently, I am under contract as a Multimedia Journalist for NEWS10 ABC. Being able to start in the capital city of New York at 20 years old with the support of my colleagues has been a dream come true. I work alone as a reporter and photographer, making my own stories for broadcast and web.

My path in Digital Multimedia started while still attending Fonda-Fultonville High School. At the beginning of 11th grade, I signed up for Digital Multimedia classes at Hamilton Fulton Montgomery Career and Tech Center BOCES. My first time using a DSLR and video camera and the Adobe suite channeled my creativity upon a digital medium I did not have prior experience with. Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Illustrator were the first programs I had the chance to try and practice with. Video production was my favorite part of the program. At my home school, I graduated 17th out of 93 students in my class and was nominated for National Technical Honor Society at HFM in 2020. I became an Adobe Certified Associate for Digital Video using Premiere Pro CC 2018 using what I learned during this time.
